Dax Lynal (Battle Profile) by Rachel-Savaya
((Lookit dat.... 8D the awesome ~))

Powers/Abilities: A psychokinetic Tasmanian devil. Dax's powers have amplified through dedicated training sessions to allow him to cause explosions of varying degrees with his mind. Dax is also skilled with all kinds of boards, including extreme gear, snow boards, and skate boards. He's well coordinated and able to think fast, and react just as fast.

Siblings: none

Enemies: Arakid and his colony of Grandarachnids, Dr. Robotnik, and anyone who abuses power to cause harm to others.

Important Personality Traits: Often called the "Tasmanian Dare Devil", Daferax's idea of fun is overly extreme and more times than not life threatening. He's very laid back and there isn't much he's afraid to do. You won't often see him turning away from a dare. Dax has a fairly large ego due to his large consecutive streak of successful dangerous stunt attempts, and is most frequently seen boasting about these accomplishments to sometimes large crowds of people. He's popular, and even somewhat of an unintentional charmer. In a romance, Dax takes on an entirely different prospect, becoming very soft towards his love interest and even shy. Dax finds himself very open and extremely vulnerable in a romantic relationship, as such, it can be significantly hard to develop such a relationship with him. Daferax's constant stunt performing and wild behavior can make him annoying to the wrong person, but he has a good sense of justice and is a very fun friend to have if you can establish a bond of trust with him.

Short Backstory: Dax grew up in a family that had always been plagued by poverty. Things with his father's career just always seemed to take a turn for the worst at the most inconvenient times. It didn't get any better after his younger brother, Slade, was born either. His mother wound up in poor condition after Slade's birth, and as a result, she was unable to work. As Dax got older, his want to do something to help grew stronger. In school, Dax shone most at outside play time, where he would draw sometimes very large crowds doing some kind of stunt with the airboard he was given for his 9th birthday. He would often get into trouble for unsafe play, but it was worth it for the most part. One day, Dax overheard his parents arguing about finances, and that sealed the deal for him. He was 12 years old when Dax learned that he could turn his hobby of stunt performing into an actual profession. Wasting no time, Dax arranged a time and place, and sold tickets to what would be his most memorable show yet. He didn't tell his parents the contents of his stunt, he just told them he was going to show off some simple tricks, so they allowed it. However, these tricks weren't so simple. They were very dangerous stunts, and when it was finally show time, Dax's nerves got the best of him. Going on with the show regardless, a terrible accident ensued. The flames that were being used as part of the show props were knocked out of place, and the entire arena was set ablaze. Dax's father was a firefighter, so he was immediately called to the scene. He saved Dax, but lost his own life in the process. Dax has lived with the guilt of that day ever since, and the loss of his tail remains a permanent symbol of what happened that day. For the longest time, Dax never even looked at his airboard. The anger he had towards himself made him miserable, and one by one, he pushed away all of the friends he made in school. He dropped out, attempting to find a regular job to help support the family, but he couldn't keep one. For a reason that Dax couldn't understand, things around him would inexplicably break, smash, and even explode. After Slade had discovered his pyrokinetic abilities, Dax began to wonder if he himself had some kind of out of control ability that was causing these accidents, so he went to Slade and asked him to teach him what he knew. When Slade refused, saying that he had no wish to cultivate his unwanted powers, that's when the rift between the two brothers really developed. Dax didn't know how Slade could cast off something so incredible without even a second thought, but this left Dax once again on his own without any kind of a lead. He went on, unable to decide on a course of action, until one day when he went to a mall to sell his airboard for money. All he knew was that he felt so angry inside, but in several blasts around the mall, the entire place erupted in reddish purple flames. Dax stared for a moment in horror, realizing without a doubt that these explosions were his doing. Once he snapped out of his daze, he utilized his riding skills for the first time in years to save as many people as he could from the mall. He was seen as a hero for the lives he saved, but even as he was presented with a great reward, he bore the relentless guilt for having caused the accident in the first place even through the ceremony. From that point on, he made it his personal goal to get a handle on whatever curse he was given. He sought out someone with psychokinetic abilities and requested her to train him. Olaira was all around psychic, specializing in studying auras, but having heard about his heroic deed at the mall, she trained him as a reward for saving her son. Training was slow going, but after months of little progress, he finally started to live up to the potential she saw in him. His psychokinesis grew stronger, and he also learned to control his energy while angered so he no longer caused explosions every time he got angry. It wasn't flawless, of course, but Dax left his training with her having obtained a new friend, and a renewed feeling of confidence in himself and his techniques. Having believed the accident with his show was a result of his lack of control over his abilities, Dax decided once again to enter show business. His mother was heartbroken, but showed support to Dax for following his dreams. Slade, however, was devastated, and had nothing but anger and resentment towards Dax. Regardless, Dax left and took his show on the road. He became quite famous, keeping to his word and sending a good portion of the money he made home to help his family. Dax also kept up his reputation as a hero, thwarting crimes both minor and serious. He had developed a lifestyle that was very pleasant to himself. He buried the guilt from his past and hid it behind a carefree, easygoing smirk. There isn't a day gone by that he hasn't ridden his airboard, and he's even made a few good friends along his many adventures. His broken, brotherly relationship with Slade remains to be fixed, but in the meantime, Dax goes through life with a carefree mindset for the most part. He loves what he does and he flaunts it every chance he gets.

--Additional Info For Daferax--

Special/Genetic Flaws: Dax can get a massive headache if he overuses his psychokinesis. This is caused by inflammation of his brain, and if he really pushes himself, his brain can potentially explode in his head, causing instant death. His explosions can sometimes cause damage to things he didn't originally intend to cause damage to, and they can get out of control if he is over angered. Daferax's dare devil personality can often put his own life at risk, and if he fails in a stunt attempt, it can seriously injure him. Dax's outside is tough, but his center is very, very soft, meaning that he is very much affected by a broken heart. Dax is able to blow up an object that he is manipulating, however, he cannot cause a separate explosion somewhere else while manipulating an object. He must first release his hold on that object before he can launch his explosive attack.

Special/Genetic Perks: Dax's physical exercise and training has made him physically fit and given him an increased endurance. While he doesn't have the ability to levitate, his mystical training has developed his psychokinetic powers so that he can cause sometimes massive explosions by focusing a large amount of the sun's heat into one area all at once.

Theme Song: "Crazy Enough" by Bobby Wills

Song to Lover/Would-be Lover: TBD

Position: Soloist/Leader. While he typically does his stunts alone, Dax more than welcomes any fellow dare devil to join him on his adventures. He'll sometimes fall back from a lead position in the beginning, but once he gets a set track on their adventure, he'll take lead and develop his own strategy on how to accomplish it. Whoever will follow him, he works with. If his group winds up with a problem, he will go off alone to finish the job.

Fighting Style: Manipulator, Distractive Striker. Dax will typically use a variety of tricks and methods to distract his opponent, then sneak into a blind spot and attempt a one hit knockout. Another tactic of his is to overwhelm his opponent with a large number of objects or explosions going off on a rapidfire all at once. In a last ditch attempt, he'll go to the extreme of self harm if he can inflict damage on an opponent.

Favorite Food: Hotdogs

Favorite Music: Rock, Punk, and surprisingly some upbeat country.

Important Relationships:
Slade Lynal: Dax's younger brother. Despite being born at different times, these two look very much alike, with the exceptions of color schemes and hairstyles. However, their relationship does not blossom the way a brotherly relationship should. These two have very different personality types, and as such, in their adult years, they have several disagreements when it comes to lifestyle choices. Slade disagrees mainly with Dax's occupation choice, and thinks Dax is too careless and reckless with his life and the lives of those around him. Dax believes that Slade is too uptight and needs to relax and take more chances. He feels that Slade is holding himself back by not doing so. Regardless of their differences, they both recognize eachother as brothers and family members, and as a result, neither one will turn a blind eye if the other is in trouble.
Olaira Pekoi: Dax's best friend and mentor. Although she is a few significant years older than Dax, these two have about equal respect for one another. Dax is impressed by her strength and how she has kept a good home for her son, despite being a single mother. Olaira, in turn, admires his pride in the sense that he always tries to give more than he takes, however, she also thinks that he needs to loosen up and accept help and hospitality when it's offered to him. These two don't see eachother as much anymore, but they're both surprised to see how often the other is on their minds.

((And that's him! The WHOLE him! ^^ hope you like him. I plan on drawing more of him in the near future, probably one of him with his airboard next! Keep an eye out! And thanks for reading!!))
