Description

This is probably going to be my last submission until I come back from the Christmas hulabaloo, so I put some extra effort into it. C: Hope you enjoy this picture, and the sneak peak story for my D.R.E.A.M fanfiction that goes with it. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone ^^

He ran and ran through the forest, hoping he would lose his thoughts along the way, hoping he could escape them, but it was hopeless. Tears ran from his eyes, making a small trail of water behind him. He couldn't stop thinking about her- about what she had done. Why? To what end? What did she gain by making a trade with a demon?! Tampering with the very power she vowed she never would! How could she have done this? It didn't make sense, and the more he thought about it, the less sense it made.
He ran until he wore himself out. Until his feet couldn't run another step at all, and then he stared up at the sky, the wind ruffling his fur. At that moment he realized it. That was one of many times to come he would be running.... alone. No companion to join him, back him up when he suddenly got into another random adventure on one of his runs. After all, Rachel was gone. And that was something he was going to have to deal with. Robotnik's base had suddenly blown up soon after she was whisked away by the black smoke, but he had a lingering feeling that it wasn't the end of the dangers he was going to face. Still, the wind blew, even though his mind was busy. However, one gust in particular blew just right to make a leaf brush through his hand, and for that moment, he could feel her there. He could feel her standing beside him, as though that leaf brushing up against his hand was her in some way. Although it was impossible, he could feel her there, and closing his eyes, he pictured her standing there in front of him. She smiled, reaching out her hand to him, and at that moment, he did the same. He smiled and reached out his hand into emptiness. Into the wind.
